Overview:

Welcome to the Undergraduate Biology Program!

KU’s Undergraduate Biology Program (UBP) partners with the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and the Department of Molecular Biosciences to offer a deep and enriching educational experience. Opportunities are available for independent study, undergraduate research, field experience, student hourly employment, undergraduate teaching assistantships, and participation in student organizations.

Take your education outside the classroom with unique opportunities to study in the tropical forests of Central America thanks to a partnership with the Organization for Tropical Studies in San José, Costa Rica.

As a prospective biology student you may have been directed to this site in lieu of a meeting with a biology faculty member. During main enrollment times, our dedicated Undergraduate Biology Program faculty are booked advising current students one-on-one. We encourage you to schedule a visit with the Biology department any time after April 26th when main enrollment advising is completed. In the meantime, please explore the details and links on this page to learn more about all the opportunities in Undergraduate Biology at KU.
