Overview: 

French, Italian, and Francophone studies in the Department of French and Italian ensure that you will succeed in an interconnected world. There are three comprehensive undergraduate major programs with three tracks: French, French and Italian, Italian. You may also minor in French or in Italian. Course work in the Department of French and Italian gives you a valuable and useful linguistic tool; offers cultural training for specializing in other fields; prepares prospective language teachers in French and Italian; and trains majors in the literature, culture, and civilization of France, Italy, and the parts of the world where French is a major language of communication, including Québec and large parts of the Caribbean, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Career options:
