Global & International Studies

B.A.
Minor

Overview:

The Department of Global & International Studies (CGIS) at KU is an interdisciplinary program in which faculty and students think critically about some of the most fundamental issues facing international societies today: population growth, politics and governance, migration, economics, poverty and conflict, and climate change.

Through an investigation of these topics, you will acquire an enriched understanding of the world today, which is not only a desirable end in itself, but also a useful background for professionals whose careers may involve them in different geographical and cultural areas.

CGIS is currently home to the programs in European Studies and Jewish Studies, providing administrative support and other resources as these units grow and expand.

Career options:

As a CGIS graduate, you'll find your degree helpful for careers in journalism, foreign service, business and industry, education, law, politics and government, and social service agencies. Visit the KU Career Center website and find out more.
