Overview: 

KU’s Department of History offers a multi-disciplinary approach covering over 10 fields of study. As a History major, you will be equipped to research, analyze and communicate.

Courses are offered in the history of sexuality, natural disasters, and war and plagues, just to name a few. Training in historical research, analysis and writing, will help you develop skills that are crucial to our information economy.

With few prerequisites and only two required courses, History is the ideal choose-your-own-adventure major, minor or second major.

Career options: 

A wide range of jobs awaits History graduates. Law, education, international relations, business, journalism and even medicine are all common paths.
